DO I REALLY NEED AN ATTORNEY?
This is a question that crosses the mind when considering Deferred Action. I
believe that many cases do not need an attorney. However, how does an applicant
go about making that determination? Many consumer advisories suggest that it's
best to check around. Get a consultation from at least two capable and reputable
immigration attorneys. If you weren't getting work done on your car, you would
check with at least two or three mechanics. It is the same in the case of legal work.
Some attorneys charge for consultation some don't. Paying a small amount for
consultation may save applicants many hours of worry and concern not knowing if
they're doing the right thing.
In my office the client comes first. My job is to find out exactly what my clients
need and want in the short term and long term. I make it my business to get as
close to their goals as possible. Therefore, the best part of the service and value I
provide to my clients is peace of mind and a place to ask questions (and received
prompt answers) whenever the questions arise.
For the young people seeking deferred action it is important to get that capable,
expert, and knowledgeable advice for at least three reasons - perhaps more. First
- there is only one shot at this application. There will be no appeals or
reconsideration from this process. Second - people who have criminal history prior
deportation or lie on their forms run the risk of being deferred to deportation.
Third - I can guarantee that the application will be processed in the most
professional manner and completed in a reasonable period of time. This means
that my client is free to use his or her time in living their life instead of worrying
about getting things together for this application, what things to get together, or
what's getting get them in trouble.
I hope this information is helpful. And I sincerely hope that young people who may
be accessing the legal system for the first time are able to get legal help that they
need and can avoid scams.
